The sentence 'I am a free man! I will choose my own fate!', said by a medieval man, isn't admissible, both in social aspect and in religious aspect. In fact the most of people was poor and submissive to a king who chose about their lives or their death. Furthermore people were very religious: they couldn't believe in destiny because it was against God's omnipotence; in other words, acknowledge the existence of an unknowable destiny also per God was profane.
