Malala is a sixteen-year-old Pkistani girl, who used to live in the Swat Valley, in the North of Pakistan, and she's a student. Now she lives in Birmingham, in England, where all is more modern than in her country. She is homesick: of the Valley, of her school, of her best friend Moniba, and although she can't return home, she hopes firmly that she will return there. One day, in fact, her life changed. That day was a normal Tuesday, 9 October 2012, when she was fourteen. She was going to school by bus and when the bus was turning, it suddenly stopped, and a Taliban got on the bus. Malala firstly believed that he was a journalist, but when he lifted up a black pistol she understood. He was a terrorist, who was searching her, the founder's daughter of a school only for girls. Her father is a man who stands up for women rights, that in a male-chauvinist society could be a threat. So, many Talibans, that think that girls should not go to school, want to kill Malala's father. The man in the bus shot three bullets. Malala survived and now she lives in Birmingham beacause it is safer for her and her family.
