At last english lesson I was absent but in class there was a conversation about the phrase "I'm a free man and I'll choose my own faith'', theacher asked to my classmates: " Is this phrase a typical of the middle ages?" .I think that this sentence is an interpretation of latins and greeks thinking when people belived that faith was made from themselves and that man known himself, was enough discovered it. So it isn't typical of middle ages but come from other culture and ways of thinking.
