The Middle Age is a particular era: every expression could hide a hidden meaning. The sentence pronunced by Bors "I am a free man, I will choose my own fate" could be an example. In my opinion Bors is the only one who showed an anticonformist behavior, because in the Middle Age you couldn't be free from Fate or indipendent from God but I think that this isn't a typical Middle Age's sentence, it is more correct says that this is an advanced sentence for a man who lived in the Middle Age.
